| PDF Information Page___ What is a PDF? I create some patterns in the PDF format, which means you download them to your computer and print them out yourself onto any foundation you desire. You keep the PDF on your machine. PDF stands for "Portable Document File." It can be opened by any computer using the Acrobat Reader. The Adobe Acrobat Reader is a FREE tool for opening and reading PDF files (see http://www.adobe.com/). Once the Reader has been installed on your machine, you can click on any PDF file and it will pop open and show you the file. Then you can print the file if you choose. There is a huge variety of PDFs all over the web, so Acrobat Reader is a worthwhile tool to have on hand. If you have problems finding, installing, or using the Reader, please get back to me and I will try to help you out. _________________ What is a PDF Print-Out Pattern? Some people do not want to deal with PDFs and would much rather have a printed pattern. PDF Print Outs are printed straight from a PDF. You receive a printed master copy, all instructions, foundations, and usually a photo cover. It is delivered by the U.S. mail like other printed patterns. _________________ Troubleshooting PDF/Reader problems: Things to check or try: --Make sure Acrobat Reader has been installed on your machine. Being "present" does not mean it has been installed. --Get the latest version of Acrobat Reader from adobe.com. Although my PDFs are saved in the 4.0 format, many people have found that a fresh copy of the Reader clears up old problems. |
