Downtime Update________

Original Downtime Announcement (below)

5/20/08--Wow, two months have gone by. My husband thinks I ought to stay clear of the site altogether, but I'm feelin' the need to check in with you-all.

On one hand, I am keeping very busy. On the other, I wish I could say even half of my to-do list has been to-"done". Ha!

Among my bigger projects, I have been working in the backyard, clearing a huge area of long-entrenched weeds in order to put in the second half of the lawn that was first put in seven years ago. It took many hours over six weeks to weed and prepare, a little bit at a time. I hand seeded (pretty well, I thought) but now I have a strange patchy thing I wouldn't call a lawn. I don't remember this problem seven years ago. I will be doing the second round of seeding soon, after we mow this first bit.

On the outside, I have a planter to build, and both sides of the house also have to be de-weeded (I'm just going to have to break out the chemicals). Unfortunately, it is quickly getting very hot out--we've had a taste of 100F days already. And I really MUST MUST MUST wash these windows... On the inside, well, let me not continue to bore or depress you! Except to say, that I highly recommend freecycle.org .

As for Paper Panache, I programmed a comprehensive A to Z pattern list in php. I think it is fun to use, and it features every pattern you can find on this site, for sale and for free. God willing, there will be a photo version in the next few months when I revamp the place!

Well, not extremely exciting, but I've never been very exotic. Thank you for coming by to check on Paper Panache!

Taking Some Downtime________
3/16/08--As my "regular regulars" may have noticed, my ideal update schedule of every five weeks has been disintegrating over the past two years due to certain uncompromising extracurricular activities (traveling; working with ministries). Catching up is stressful.

The bottom line is that I need to refocus for a period of time. Paper Panache will continue to be online, but extensive site updates, new patterns, and mysteries will cease for the next 3-6 months. In that time both Paper Panache and my household are going to undergo as much cleanup as I can manage.

IMPORTANT PAPER PANACHE INFORMATION
for time period of April-October 2008:

ORDERS WILL CONTINUE TO BE TAKEN.

  • I will still fill orders once a week (Tuesdays, for now.)
  • I will still answer business email.
  • I will resume regular site updates with new patterns and mysteries, and twice-a-week order mailings, sometime between July and October.
  • I will send an announcement when regular operations have resumed.

I am announcing this so you will know why things may look static for awhile. Get or stay on the mailing list, and you will eventually hear about the "Grand Reopening." Things may change quietly in the meantime... Come by every once in a while and see if there is anything to see!

Thank you for waiting, everyone, while I get it all back together!
