Fun pattern to make. Hurry up, Thanksgiving!
Wild by Wanda Barkhurst
Hi Linda, If you will recall, I asked you to help me with a lizard for an art quilt I was attempting as my version of the book “Wild” by Cheryl Strayed. She hiked the Pacific Crest Trail starting in CA and final destination Bridge of the Gods in Cascade Locks, OR. Here is the result. All of it is paper pieced except the Bridge of the Gods, which is mosaic piecing. I loved this project. It is currently making the local rounds of shows.
I used almost all Michael Miller Fairy Frost fabric line and this quilt just sparkles in the sunlight when it is displayed outdoors at a showing.
The [photo below] is before I had started the intense machine stitching when the author came to participate in an Author presentation in Bend, OR. I found out later that a group in Bellingham, WA did a group project on this book as well. There are some very artistic quilts in that blog as well.
Oh, the cougar is my first attempt at paper piecing from a photograph. It was challenging. I liked that. Once. It was tough to mentally map out each of the angles to get the right look.
Thank you again for your assistance in helping me.
