Dutch Clog by Dana Hoonhout
Many moons ago I had requested the design for the Dutch clog. Not sure if I ever showed you my finished project that I made with it, so here it is!
Initially I had made a wall hanging, with each block having some additional embroidery or embellishment; however, I had nowhere to display it, so a couple of years ago I found some leftover fabric and took it apart and remade it as two cushions.
Thanks for this pattern and all the others I have made over the years. The Round Tuit was my first paper pieced mystery block and is my favourite.

Family Tree by Shanda Finnigan, Richmond, VA
First, thank you so much for your website. I learned a ton! My stepmother has made a quilt (or two) for everyone in our family (5 kids + their spouses and 9 grandkids). My family was having a vacation together last week and I decided that I should make her a quilt in return. Of course it couldn’t be just any quilt, it had to be a special quilt that spoke to family, so off I went to the internet to find a pattern. Your Family Tree design was exactly what I was looking for! Except I needed 19 hearts for our giant family! 😊 So I bought your design and then used it as a guide to create an expanded version that was roughly 46 x 68 inches, with 19 hearts and one in the middle for my dad and stepmom.
When we got to the house I got all 9 grandkids and 10 kids/spouses to secretly sign their names and then we presented it to her the next night. She was floored and loved it. 💗
This was my first quilt project, my first quilt design, and I certainly learned A LOT! I would definitely do a better job with the design on round two, but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! Yes, I screwed up the bottom, but by the time I realized it, I had already sewn everything together. My stepmom says no quilt is ever perfect, so I’m trying to let it go!

Guild Swap by Nora Melzer,
Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild, BC, Canada

This is a mini quilt I made for a guild swap. We had to use Guild colours, solid fabrics only, and the size could not be more than 10x10 inches. I loved the Hawaiian shirt pattern but I wanted more of a T-shirt look. I made the V-neck T-shirt with a bias strip of green silk, with another bias strip for the hem. The rest are Kona cotton solids. The pattern is the perfect size for mini projects like this. Thank you!
